Brickell area was founded mid-1800s by the first pioneers and was nicknamed “Millionnaires Row” during the 1900s because of the many splendid mansions that were built on Brickell Avenue at the time. In the 70s, new buildings, office towers, modern hotels and apartment complexes gradually replaced the historic architectural wonders and left only a few of these residences still standing.
Brickell has acquired an increasingly residential character and its population is growing super fast. Since the end of the recent economic downturn, new luxurious buildings that offer stunning view over the ocean and Key Biscayne have mushroomed everywhere in the area. New pre constructions like the ICON Brickell – as well as off-plan properties such as the ECHO Brickell, the SLS Lux, the Brickell HEIGHT or the CASSA Brickell are only a few of these impressive new residential projects and many more sterling quality housing projects are on the way.
In Brickell, dozens of new apartments are sold each month. These pre constructions feature on-plan apartments that sell quickly and represent up to 60% of the properties available on the market in the 5 to 6 months following the launch of a project.
This particular area of Miami is now often referred to as the “Manhattan of the South” and projects like Brickell City Center – luxury stores and restaurants – are only adding interest to the already lively Mary Brickell Village, making this neighborhood even more attractive than it is already.
Some buildings also offer seasonal leases, one of them being the Viceroy – a splendid complex with a superb swimming pool overlooking the Biscayne Bay.
